I've just done a quick test on a 'Hello world' test app and it's

| Looks great if you want
to intall it in your home directory. This, however, is not the Unix way
to do things. What I want to do is to install it in /usr/local/bin and
have personalized settings in /home/USER (and I suppose most people
would like to do it this way). Martin Martin, thanks for the constructive opinion. Yes, I understand that many people will want to install the software to one of the usual directory in the protected areas of the system. InstallMade currently is capable of doing so, however this feature is disabled. The future versions of InstallMade (1.0.1 and above) will provide the functionality of creation RPM packages. For now I want to provide to people proficient in programing but not familiar with Linux a safe and easy way of testing and deploying application. (Everything without root privileges) |

InstallMade... It is really good! However,I wonder if I can reduce the
size of libqt.so.2.3.0... Its size is almost 8MBytes. We want to use
the program (written in Kylix2) in an embedded box... You know,if file
size too big,it will be difficult to use it... With our best

installmade, it works great. I think Borland is really missing the mark
by not including an install program in Kylix. I am using Kylix because
I don't have the time to do my application in C. What's the point of
saving time with a 4GL and then spending that saved time on learning
the install requirements of that product? Craig |
