InstallMade makes it easier to deploy and install Kylix made programs.

InstallMade is a complementary tool to Borland Kylix (tm) therefore to use InstallMade you need to be a licensed user of Kylix and Kylix must be installed along InstallMade. (InstallMade will not work with any version of Kylix Trial Edition ).

InstallMade will work with any version of Kylix 1, Kylix 2 and Kylix 3.

InstallMade on the basis of the data gathered from the developer and the information picked up from the project and executable files and system in general, creates an installation package which is ready to be deployed to a different Linux computer. As the result of the "educated guess" InstallMade makes on the basis of the gathered information, a package as small as possible in size and content yet most likely sufficient to assure proper functioning of the binary executable on the target computer.

Standalone Executable: In just a few mouse clicks InstallMade will create, from your GUI Qt executable, one file self running and self-contained Standalone Executable, nothing more to deploy, just copy it to a different computer. Please check the advantages and limitations of this type of implementation.

RPM packages: RPM packages will be created only on or for a system which support RPM mechanisms of installing software. InstallMade will create such RPM packages of the type that is used by your development system.

LCR (Library Checker and Resolver): LCR packages are a very convenient way of installing your Kylix software to the targeted computer because it search and reused any useful shared objects on the system, therefore saving a lot of time and bandwidth. The LCR determines which package is the most appropriate to download automatically from the distribution site. Furthermore, the LCR provides a reasonable assurance that the versions and integrity of the shared objects will not affect adversely the work of the program and/or the work of the user system.

Self-Installable: Self-contained installation package, creates icon on the desktop and menu entry (KDE, GNOME; type of installation and local configuration dependent feature). Ability to run post-install script or executable and can start the application automatically after installation, splash screen and more...

tar.gz file: A compressed file that contains the most likely needed shared objects and the executable binary as well a prototype of a starter script to run the application, also automatically creates appropriate installation instruction so the user of your packages will know how to install the tar.gz package.

Privacy: The information you submit to Superobject Software Solutions will not be used for any other purpose than licensing and will not be disclosed for any reason to anyone except if require by law. In most situations this information will not be seen by human eyes, since all the procedures to create license key and build your current copy of InstallMade is automatized.
